Julie Owens

Julie Sullivan Owens is a relentless optimist on a mission to find the good, partner with other changemakers, and work towards a more inclusive and innovative economy.
Julie is CEO of Social Enterprise Greenhouse, a nonprofit business support organization that serves entrepreneurs, organizations and businesses committed to positive societal and economic change. SEG’s portfolio of more than 600 businesses and nonprofits creates positive social impact through improvements in access to educational opportunities, training and employment, healthcare, financial services, healthy food, basic human needs, affordable housing, and a safe and healthy environment.
Prior to joining Social Enterprise Greenhouse in 2022, the majority of Julie’s 25+ year career was spent as a consultant who worked with organizations across the country to cultivate strategic thinking and create positive impact. Her work was focused in the health care sector, on both delivery of care (creating innovative programs that improve the patient experience) and financing of care (decreasing barriers that are often experienced by the underinsured).
Julie holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and a BS from Stonehill College. She is on the Boards of Directors of the Barrington Education Foundation and Eagle Speed, a youth running organization. She lives in Barrington, RI with her husband and four teenage children.
